Gentle Handling
No muzzles, no forced restraint — nervous dogs get extra breaks and a slower pace, not a shortcut.
Calm, considerate grooming — for dogs who'd rather not be rushed.
Poochie Parlour was set up by a City & Guilds-qualified groomer after years working in busy, high-turnover salons where dogs were booked back-to-back with barely a break between them. We wanted something calmer — one dog on the table at a time, with the time it actually needs.
That means no double-booking, no rushed blow-dries, and no dog waiting in a crate for hours before or after their slot. If your dog gets anxious about grooming, we build in the extra time and patience that takes.
No muzzles, no forced restraint — nervous dogs get extra breaks and a slower pace, not a shortcut.
One dog on the table at a time. Your dog's slot is theirs alone — never squeezed to fit another in.
Proper training in breed-standard cuts, not just clippers-on-a-number-two for everything.
Public liability insurance and a clean, sanitised salon between every single appointment.
A single grooming station rather than a row of tables — quieter, calmer, and built around one dog's comfort rather than salon throughput. Non-slip surfaces, low-noise dryers, and a raised bath sized for dogs of every build.
